Is your Healthcare working for you?

Is your Healthcare working for you?

Something that I have been thinking about lately is how we, as healthcare providers, need to collaborate more for you, our client.

I often have clients ask me if it is ok to receive Physio while getting massage Or if they should stop their Chiro for a while so they could have massage. I think the only thing better than getting a massage to help improve your health problem or condition… is more help. Which some healthcare does not provide

An often time, the problem in this line of alternative healthcare is competition. I feel that there is a loss of the main goal here! The goal of any good healthcare provider should be the growth and improvement of our client. I strive every day to improve my clients. It’s what I got into this line of work for, and it honestly makes my day when I have a client return and tell me how much I helped them.

However it may be naive of me (even conceded) to assume that I alone may be the sole help needed for each client. The body works in miraculous ways, and as Registered Massage Therapists our claim to fame is Muscles.  We work more than just muscles, but simply, that’s our strong point. As physio is rehabilitation through exercises and stretching, and chiro is joints and bones. We are all more widely focused, but those are the main points in laymen terms.

So when it comes to helping, I think it is important to find a healthcare provider that is there for you. If you ask them, and they say you shouldn’t see anyone else… you should question their reasoning. If it’s only for a few weeks for them to narrow down the sole response of their treatments on your body; then this may be just. However if you are told chiro and massage don’t go well together (for example). Then this is wrong. Chiropractors usually prefer their clients receive a massage beforehand to help relax the muscles, as it makes it easier for them to perform the adjustments.

OBVIOUSLY, I am biased in thinking that Massage is the best of all three. But I am certain you will receive that response favoring whatever profession you ask. My sole purpose in this blog today is just for you to realize that if you personally would like different treatments, and feel that is best. Don’t be swayed. Let us work together for your best outcome.

At Adica Massage Clinic, we strive to make you feel great! We have multiple massage types including: therapeutic massage, hot stone massage and even pregnancy massage.
